David Bowie
Heroes
Acrylics and ink on card, A4
Painting of David Bowie based on a photograph taken by Christian Simonpietri in the Plaza Athénée Hotel, Paris in 1977. Bowie had recently left the excesses of Los Angeles behind and relocated to Berlin where he shared a flat with Iggy Pop and lived anonymously in the city. This proved to be a highly creative period resulting in the recording of the critically acclaimed ‘Berlin Trilogy’ of albums: Low, Heroes, and Lodger.
This was painted to mark the tenth anniversary of his passing on 10 January 2016.
